Happy Australia Day!

It was so hot here today that my three Aussie friends went outside for some fresh air. I asked them to pose for me in the tree and although it wasn't a gum tree they agreed.

The little koala is about 50 years old. She was a gift from my Aunty, who still lives in Australia, to my father before I was born. The platypus is Finns and the wombat I acquired recently to keep the others company. LOL.

  3. Wonderful litle furry critters. I have a couple of those old koalas too - my dad tells me they were made of kangaroon hide but I am not sure I believe him. I am kinda hoping it is really rabbit. I also have a wombat and a platypus - I will try to get a shot later and post it in the comments thread.

Happy Australia Day little cute furry critters!

  5. I loved your tribute to Australia Day.
The set up, light and focus are perfect too!
But your animals miss me of mine ... :-)

  6. Cutie animals!! The wombat looks especially soft and cuddly. Great idea for Australia Day.

  7. A great collection of two, although they are quite clearly manufactured by different places, and to different scales! A wombat is considerable bigger than a koala which is a bit bigger than a platypus (which I have never seen in a tree!) ;-)

A lovely shot of them and thanks for the acknowledgement of Australia Day. It is a VERY big day here!

BTW, kangaroo fur is extremely soft and very like rabbit fur, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it was.

  8. Aw what a sweet tribute to Au Day, I tried to get a post up yesterday but it wouldn't go up for some unknown reason.
I've actually seen an albino Koala - it had blue eyes and was so cute.
I've never seen a platypus as they are very shy - I've heard they are very excited at breeding them in a zoo down south.
A cute warm and fuzzy trio

  9. They're so cute! I can't believe that koala is 50 years old, he looks so white and well kept. They all look to be the best of friends :)
